Plain Facts
My name is Rachel Sainsbury. I'm an English Major and Editing Minor at BYU. I served in the Philippines Baguio Mission from 2003-2005 and am graduating in Dec. 2006. I am the eldest of seven children, I grew up in Payson Utah but have only been in-state for Thanksgiving once since I graduated. I was raised on a fifty acre farm where my parents claim I never belonged. I am the only one in my family cursed with severe allergies preventing me from actually doing much to help out. For the past three years my family has rented out our back field to a pumplin farmer. Each Halloween our field if covered in thousands upon thousands of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes from tiny gourds to monster jack-o-lanterns. We got to pick as many as we wanted and a new tradition developed in my family. The day after Halloween we out in the field, collected all the pumpkins we wanted, gutted them, and roasted the seeds. Pumpkin seeds are amazing. I am a white/blue/red, a type B personality who wants to be a type A, passive/agressive, and a warrior/martyr hero. I love to travel and secretly wish to visit six of the seven contenents before I die (I would include Antartica but truthfully I don't care much for penguins, snow, or freezing temperatures) (okay, and maybe it's not so secret). Hawaii is not my ideal vacation; I would be fine if I never set foot in Hawaii. My perfect vacation involves someplace old, seeped in culture and history or some other sort of significance. I am the aloe vera of my apartment. The one everyone comes to when they have a problem or emotional drama in their lives. It's not that I give the greatest advice every but I do listen well. Maybe it's the white in me but I avoid causing drama myself like I avoid the plague.
First Memory
My first memory is looking at sunflowers that tower above me. Actually I think they were daisies but when I was two they were as large as sunflowers to me now. The path to my Grandma's house was lined with them. I thought that they wre so beautiful, all black and yellow. One day, who knows why, I had the desire to actually pick one. Maybe I saw someone else smell one or pick one, I dont' know.
Friends
Since my page is basically, well, I'll think of an appropriately degrading word later that correctly discribes my pathetic attempt at a web page, I 'd like to invite you to visit some of my friends pages that I'm sure are far more interesting.
