In this abrazo, people are acting on stage in front of an empty theater, but real life situations force us to act all the time. Just think back of the time you were forced to eat your mom's special dessert. You gave her the impression that you were enjoying it by using simple acting techniques, when in reality it tasted like someone had scraped up some cow dung, put it in a pan, and then basted it in a puddle of their own sweat. You may not even realize you are acting as you try not to vomit it back up, but you are using crucial acting skills to not only keep it down, but also to give your mom the impression that you are enjoying it. Acting in real life is an interesting thing. It keeps everybody on guard at all times, not knowing whether the person is being honest or whether they are putting on a show. People act to hide things all the time, so if they are good at it, acting can get a lot done. If we can act to hide the truth, what makes us so sure nobody else is doing it? Monkeys are right behind us in the chain of evolution, or are they? Throughout the last million years, these "primates" may have evolved into a super species. They could all be geniuses, just waiting for the right time to make their move. Hell, they beat us into space. They have managed to fool us into thinking we are smarter than them, but some monkeys have given away their potential abilities. For instance, you can tune into the Man Show and see the Poopflingers, a married monkey couple who wear human clothes and often find themselves in real life arguments. This may just be a TV show, with the voices dubbed in, but, if you look closely, you can see the potential that these monkeys hold. Now don't get me wrong, monkeys aren't the only ones acting to help themselves. Pro wrestlers make their living by entertaining crowds. It is well known that pro wrestling is the most advanced form of acting. So-called "normal" actors have it easy. How hard is it to act like you fall in love, beat the bad guy, and win the girl? Seems easy to me. The real professionals are in the wrestling ring. Only a true master of the art can pull off the character of a man who lives with an alligator, gets tossed around the ring every night, gets hit by chairs ladders and signs, all while being crazy. OVW Superstar Kousin Krazy pulls it off with brilliance. Let's see Tom Hanks try that. The next time you find yourself acting in a real life situation, just think of Ol' Kousin Krazy, who does it for you every week. If you feel you are pretty good at making people believe what you want, maybe you have a future in it. And just like Tenacious D says in Cosmic Shame, "set the artist free," but be warned, "Sometimes you follow your heart. Sometimes your heart cuts a fart."
