The Land of Dreams It
was a huge camp out in the country. One man wandered around in search of the pieces of his dreams, shattered by someone who had got in his way. He was picking up the pieces and sticking them together to make a multicolored flag. The dream water boy brought water to those who got thirsty as they slept. He carried the water on his back in a clay vessel and dispensed it in tall glasses. There was a woman in a tower wearing a white tunic and combing her tresses, which reached down to her feet. The comb shed dreams replete with all their characters: the dream flew from her hair into the air. Galeano, Eduardo. The Book of Embraces. Trans. Cedric Belfrage. New York: Norton, 1991. 46
The presence of the singing heads of lettuce and the luminous chilies could represent that Helena is subconsciously in need of nurturing. The presence of the magicians’ top hat could represent that Helena is currently in a powerful and influential position, either at home, or in a work environment. The man who is piecing together the shattered flag has a positive feel in the dream. His actions indicate hope, and the desire for rebuilding. The presence of the water boy is very important. Dreams that feature boys doing a service indicate that things will go your way in the situation that you’re currently in, and the presence of water is a sign of good things. The woman wearing a white tunic indicates purity, and her long white hair indicates wisdom. In general this dream had a very positive feel, and Helena is most likely doing very well at this point in her life. Link back to Title Page: Dream Abrazos |
