Dreams at the End of Exile/3

Her glasses were smashed and her keys were missing.  She scoured the city for her keys, groping on hands and knees, and when at last she found them, the keys told her that they didn't open any of her doors.

Tom's Interpretation

This dream represents a moment of sheer desperation and utter solitude.  Her glasses breaking represents the loss of a necessity.  She is deep in the minerals of life, groping on he hands and knees.  She is helpless and pitiful and has broken her most valuable of possessions, her focus.  On her hands and knees she searches blindly for the keys she needs to get out.  Once finding them she realizes they do not open any of the doors.
The keys are the main focal point of the dream.  They represent a way out of the atrocities in her head.  I believe she hopes the keys will take her out of a certain frame of mind, but something in life is keeping her there.  The keys told her that they would not open the doors.  This means she did not have power over the keys to make them work, they in fact had power over her.  This tells me that some things in her life are actually controlling her instead of her running the show.  What she needs to learn from this dream she needs to exert her power over things she should be controlling and show her creative power in her current desperate situation.
